what is hub site in sharepoint online or what is hub site association or Hub Sites in SharePoint:

what is hub site in sharepoint online or what is hub site association or Hub Sites in SharePoint:

SharePoint hub sites help you meet the needs of your organization by connecting and organizing sites based on project, department, division, region, etc

Advantages of Hub Sites:
  1. Common News & Site Activity
  2. Common Navigation & Branding
  3. Search Across All Sites
  4. Association with a hub does not change the permissions on a site. If you associate a site that has restricted access with a hub, only users who have access to the restricted site will see content rolled up on the hub. Information surfaced on the hub site is security trimmed: if you don't have access to the content, you won't see it.

Limitations of Hub sites:
  1. An organization is limited to 2000 HUB sites
  2. A site can only associate with a hub family. However, hub families can be connected to one another using links either on the page or in hub navigation

I hope the above information will help you to resolve the issue, in case of any queries/questions regarding the above mentioned information then please let me know. I would be more than happy to help you as well as resolves your issues, Thank you.

How to Migrate Large Site Collections to sharePoint Online

How to  Migrate Large Site Collections to sharePoint Online

  1. A site collection is made up of one top-level site and sites beneath it.
  2. A site having more than 100 GB is considered as large sites in SharePoint.
  3. SharePoint Online supports larger site collections but for better performance and maintainability it’s recommended to limit the size of sites/site collections.
Issues:
Any site collection that grows beyond 100GB will have performance issues and affect bulk
operations such as copying /moving files and sites, updating lists or libraries schema, etc.

Recommendation:
Divide the large site collections into multiple site collections or archive the old content before migration.

I hope the above information will help you to resolve the issue, in case of any queries/questions regarding the above mentioned information then please let me know. I would be more than happy to help you as well as resolves your issues, Thank you.

Migrate infopath forms to sharepoint online:

Migrate infopath forms to sharepoint online:

How do I migrate InfoPath to SharePoint Online?

InfoPath enables developers to build custom forms, customize List/Library forms, customize workflow association, and task forms.
InfoPath forms (XSN files) can be migrated, but some forms may not function without remediation.
SharePoint Online classic sites support InfoPath forms but not modern sites.

Migration Limitation:

  1. Modern site templates do not support InfoPath forms. The browser based forms would be displayed as XML.
  2. InfoPath forms are currently not supported on the Modern experience list, it can only work in the classic experience list.
  3. InfoPath forms with SOAP calls and Managed code are not supported in SharePoint Online.
  4. InfoPath forms that leverage people picker fields need to be updated with the new user's identity post-migration.
  5. After migration, the User or site owner needs to re-publish all the forms into a new list or library.
  6. Users must implement required changes to make it work in SharePoint Online.

Recommendation:

Site Owners need to ensure the InfoPath forms function correctly post-migration.

I hope the above information will help you to resolve the issue, in case of any queries/questions regarding the above mentioned information then please let me know. I would be more than happy to help you as well as resolves your issues, Thank you.

Alerts are created on items, lists, and libraries to notify a user of when content is changed.

In SharePoint Online, users would be able to create alerts on items, lists, and libraries but most of the migration tools do not migrate alerts form SharePoint on-prem.

Migration Limitation:
  1. ShareGate supports alert migration. However, it will trigger emails to users who registered for alerts during migration.
  2. Communicate this to users about the alerts limitation
  3. Once the signoff is received post UAT, alerts will be migrated during delta/incremental migration.
  4. Migration time will increase as Alerts need to be copied separately after content migration.
I hope the above information will help you to resolve the issue, in case of any queries/questions regarding the above mentioned information then please let me know. I would be more than happy to help you as well as resolves your issues, Thank you.

sharepoint custom permission levels Migration

sharepoint custom permission levels Migration:

Does ShareGate migrate custom permission level?

In SharePoint, it is possible to create a custom permission level and then assign a custom permission level to users and groups.

SharePoint Online supports custom permission levels.

Migration Limitation:

Some tools do not migrate custom permission levels. However, ShareGate migrates custom permission level

Recommendation:

Understand the current custom permission levels and determine the plan to move forward. Either move the users to default groups or create a plan (script or manual) for recreating permission levels in SharePoint online.

Site Owners need to validate the permission levels post-migration.

I hope the above information will help you to resolve the issue, in case of any queries/questions regarding the above mentioned information then please let me know. I would be more than happy to help you as well as resolves your issues, Thank you.

Difference between O-365 & SharePoint online

Difference between O-365 & SharePoint online:

This is a common question most of the Techie’s confuse about. I am trying to explain in a very simple manner.

Office 365: Is a cloud offering set of different Microsoft products like, SharePoint, Exchange, MS Office, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Teams, One drive and many more in one place.

SharePoint Online: Is a cloud offering the functionalities of SharePoint and Related. So you can think of office 365 as larger set, with SharePoint being a subset.
